How to kick ass as an Office Manager

You are absolutely essential to your company. You are the avocado to the guacamole, the egg to the omelet, the baguette to the French : your job position has less to do with Office Management than it has to do with Happiness Distribution !

1. YOU ARE THE MVP OF THE COMPANY

You are a Swiss knife : everybody knows you are the right person for the job. Detail-oriented, it is almost infuriating how much you know and can do : office budgeting, assisting, event planning, queries and complaints management, HR scheduling… You know your way around the office like no one else… except the boss, maybe.

Some say you are a kind of modern day Ninja : you are everywhere and nowhere at the same time... Or, are you even here ? Nobody knows, but it feels good to work with you. Your work is making everybody else’s work much easier.

2. YOU ARE #1 AT PRIORITIZING

Obviously, as an Office Ninja, you can not let people see you disorganised and overwhelmed. Fortunately, you have a super brain : it has a clear vision of what needs to be done today. You have a neat routine every morning where you set your goals straight for the day, and the week to come. 
But you also know that you might be putting out fires here and there throughout your day, so you are wise enough to not set unrealistic goals. The key is keeping it going, whatever happens !

3. YOU HAVE FANTASTIC PEOPLE SKILLS

For a Ninja, you are particularly good with words. You are a people person, always smiling and making sure everyone feels comfortable around the office. 
You can easily spot when someone is feeling down and lacks motivation. You have this self control and wise words that calms everybody and makes them chin up ! Sure, not every day can be all ‘sun-shiny, bird-chirpy, ice-cream-cone-licking’ day at the office. But when you are around, your coworkers feel like it is a safe space. It sure feels better when you know you have a humane person on your team to let you know you matter and will feel better soon.

4. YOU ARE THE CONFIDANT OF THE OFFICE

As the Office Manager/Ninja/Oprah, you are reliable and discrete. People know they can turn to you in times of desperation. 

Or just for a nice chat at the coffee machine… a Ninja has coffee needs too, obviously ! 
Your innate sense of conflict resolution make you the link between the direction and all coworkers. You build trust and bring people closer together. If you shine, everybody does !
